Bug Description
the screensaver starts in a quite funny was: very slow fade to black, now back to (without fade) white, faster fade to black and now the screensaver starts. I'd say, the first fade is useless...

i believe the desired functionality gnome-screensaver is supposed to have now is the fade. there are open bugs about this NOT working on some configurations at present.
