I can confirm this bug on Dell Latitude C640. XOrg server restarts on lid close. Does happen with XOrg ati driver, does not happen with vesa driver. Did not happen in Dapper, happens in Edgy.

I was able to "fix" this bug by disabling starting of "acpid" daemon after computer start. But this has negative effects, like I don't see status of my battery.
