this is very bad:

i got it too!
Sony VAIO FZ31M, ubuntu intrepid

the first time, after installation it worked automatically; gpm warned me and 1min later hibernated as set.
i was so happy, the first time it ever worked out of the box.
so i never thought about it anymore.. BUT since then it never worked again, meaning, i am trusting the gpm to do his job and suddenly, BUZZ laptop dead.

since then i tried gconf-manager, changing settings like mentioned above, but nothing works.
what works is the warning "you have one minute remaining before hibernation" and after 5min BUZZ dead.

in Hardy i helped myself by adjustin laptop-mode.conf, but those options are gone in Intrepid!
what can we do?
