Binary package hint: gnome-panel
My usage of this application in Maverick is now broken in Natty. The Run Application dialog ("classic desktop") does not find executables in my $PATH. My PATH is set up in ~/.profile
It seems to fall back to assuming I'm trying to run something in $HOME, with an error "Could not open location 'file:///home/james/tb" (where tb is a script in my $PATH in another directory)

Binary package hint: gnome-panel
My usage of this application in Maverick is now broken in Natty. The Run Application dialog ("classic desktop" - Alt-F2) does not find executables in my $PATH. My PATH is set up in ~/.profile
It seems to fall back to assuming I'm trying to run something in $HOME, with an error "Could not open location 'file:///home/james/tb" (where tb is a script in my $PATH in another directory)
This is a regression.
Further, even if I move the executable file to $HOME, it then opens the file in an editor rather than executing it. It appears as if the dialog is calling gnome-open from $HOME - the error message and behavior are exactly the same. |
