Comment 16 for bug 122241

I have written a patch that makes cryptsetup "detect" read-only devices. I am
not sure, whether this is really sane or if there is another way to do this in a
better way. It only makes in unnecessary to provide "--readonly" when opening a
cdrom device, so it does not solve this problem completely:
