Bug Description
Binary package hint: gnome-media
1. Go to menu System -> Preferences -> Sound (same if you use sound indicator -> Preferences)
2. Hover mouse pointer on "Output volume" slider
3. Rotate mouse wheel
Result: regardless of mouse wheel direction, the slider always moves downward (lower volume)
Expected: rotating mouse wheel forward (away from me) increases volume, backward (toward me) reduces volume. This is the behavior of the slider directly in the sound indicator menu, and also of the sound indicator itself when you just hover on it without opening the menu.
In case it matters, I use a Logitech Cordless TrackMan on an Apple MacBook Pro 5.3, the trackpad scrolling of which shows the same issue.

Compare LP#725167 for another slider direction issue - seems there is inconsistency in Ubuntu about wheel directions for sliders.
