Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-games

When clicking on a field in the Lights Off game, the reaction (light changes) occur with an enormous delay. Also activating the drop-down menu and opening for example the 'About' entry is very slow.
Some other gnome-games e.g. Nibbles seem also very slow, while others e.g. Mahjongg are not.

glxgears show: 2292 frames in 5.0 seconds and 2977 frames in 5.0 seconds
CPU as well as RAM usage don't seem to change significantly on start-up of the programms and are relatively low.

Best,
 Matthias

This affects me as well (64-bit Lucid on Dell Inspiron 1420n).

I have also noticed this same problem in Swell Foop.

With both games, I have to wait so long for the animations that I lose patience and give up trying to play.

Gnome games should help relieve stress, not create it!

The situation seems to have worsened for me. These games are now either frozen, or moving so slowly that I can't distinguish the difference.

The following related bugs now better describe my situation and related frustration:

I think this commit fixes the bug:
http://git.gnome.org/browse/gnome-games/commit/?id=98b73ad020ba6e61f0a9243a938792cd94c337ed

Can someone please point me in the right direction for understanding what a "commit" is, and what I need to do to install it on my system?
