Bug Description

The Ubuntu Error Tracker has been receiving reports about a problem regarding gnome-disk-utility. This problem was most recently seen with version 3.16.2-0ubuntu1, the problem page at https://errors.ubuntu.com/problem/9ec0e4eaf2490589696da7e6514c5fc0507946b0 contains more details.

Seems that started with 3.16 and should be upstreamed (the redhat bugzilla has similar reports)

It seems to be easy to trigger by removing/adding partitions on an usb stick

"This doesn't look like an easy fix. We can return early in create_partition_cb if udisks_client_get_object returns NULL, but it's probably better to crash because the partition is not going to be formatted then. We need to figure out why udisks_client_get_object sometimes returns NULL."

Doing some debugging with gdu create_partition_cb() in gducreatepartitiondialog.c

I have Linux Mint 18.3 (it's based on Ubuntu 16.04)
I am about UDisks 2.1.7 (gnome-disks)

When i try to make LUKS partition in USB flash drive (SSD Samsung 1Tb) i regulary got crash
When i run from 'root' (sudo -H gnome-disks) user i got crash again but i have core file. I got backtrace here (full log in attached file)

The reports stopped mostly in zesty, assuming it has been resolved in newer udisks versions
