This is more than a visual bug. On my system, I am unable to remove CUPS via the Synaptic Package Manager. This is (I think) because when I mark cupsys for removal, it also includes gnome-desktop, which I cannot unmark after that. Needless to say, I do not apply the removals. I am unsure if the new printer setup tool works at all under my system, since anytime I do a 'Print' function and look at the printer configuration, it still denotes CUPS. Hopefully, this can be corrected quickly. As for the view under the menu, I simply deselected the CUPS Printer icon for now.
