I'm going to remove that chunk from /usr/bin/gnome (gnome-session package). Then I'm going to make gnome-settings-daemon see if the DPI value provided by X is reasonable, and if not to pick a reasonable default. This will be used unless the user has set an explicit DPI value in gnome-font-properties.

Sigh, that came from the fix for bug #171096.
I'm going to remove that chunk from /usr/bin/gnome (gnome-session package).
