Comment 5 for bug 397670

This was a problem only with my first install of 9.04 on my netbook. Subsequently, I managed to get that version patched up to a workable form, (I forget exactly how). 9.10 and 10.04 installed and ran without any substantial problems. I only experienced this with netbook remix, not with the generic i386 install on my desktop. I would close the bug -- I don't see how to do this myself.
