For the benefit of the readers...

We still see the TensorFlow crash using SMT=off, but so far not with the proposed fix for

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/glibc/+bug/1640518

We'll test with LD_PRELOAD and some other GLIBC tweaks to try confirm it's the same problem.
