If it involves resolving a chmod mismatch then please do that.

But changing the mount-options seems to be a big can of worms, unless...they really need to be changed, not just for this. If *that* is the answer then please do that.

But whatever is done...please, let it be intelligent, well-though-out, and not cause more problems than it solves.
