Bug Description
Binary package hint: glabels
glabels 2.2.3 on ubuntu 9.04
i have created a new project from the avery 28373 template.
i click on the button for 'create image object' and click somewhere on the page.
i get a checkerboard area and on the right side i am to select the image to use. so i browse to the image, which is a png stored in my Documents directory. nothing happens, and the image object disappears. i see the filename is shown next to the "File" area. when i click to the 'size' tab the size is 0x0. so, i try to resize to something substantial. nothing happens. the 'position' tab shows -2 and -3 inches, so i try changing both to 1. nothing happens.
i try to insert a text object. i see the default "Text" displayed. i go over to the right size and edit the text. the text on the page changes fine. however, as soon as i go to the 'style' tab and change something, the text object disappears.
i try to insert a box, line, or circle object. when i click on the document, it inserts a default object. as soon as i try to change the color on the right side, the object disappears.
very frustrating! we need to create some business cards for our business (duh).
please help ASAP
thanks.
I have this same bug. It makes glabels practically useless. For anyone who only needs text, boxes, lines and circles, you can zoom out and find your object on the far left. Just drag it back onto the label, then zoom back in to position it. This doesn't work for images, although it works for boxes, lines, and circles. Even though I can find the image placeholder on the far left, and move it back to the label, I can't get it to resize. It stays stuck at minuscule size. I stretch it out, but it doesn't hold, and when I try, it goes back to the far left.
I haven't tried printing. I really need images on the labels I'm trying to create. If all you need are text, boxes, lines, and/or circles, perhaps you can work around this issue as I describe above, then see if it will print.
