Bug Description

Binary package hint: glabels

Glabels 2.2.3 in Ubuntu 9.04

I can't create a template with anything other than one label to a page - although I can change the number of labels per row/column, once the the template is saved and a document opened from it, it only shows as one label per page both in the template listings and in the new document itself.

I think this is the first time I've needed to use Glabels since upgrading to 9.04, and I know I have created templates on earlier versions of Ubuntu with multiple labels to a page. 2.2.3 is the latest version available through Synaptic.

I am having same issue here.

1- Sys: Ubuntu 904x64
2- Pack: Glabels 2.2.3
3- Expected: Create a template with multiple labels on a page
4- Result: The template created does not show the desired labels on the page, but the ones Glabels app decides to set up.

Example:
1- I want to create a template for APLI A4 labels sheet.
2- I set the main parameters and then i choose label size and margin. Depends on the label size, even does not keep the label size (210x148 mm size label will be set to 200x148 mm label, whether margin is set to Zero or whatever).
3- I choose just 1 sheet orientation.
4- I choose the number of horizontal labels and the number of vertical ones. Here is the issue, as changes do not take effect on the template. Horizontal number will be set to 1 whatever y type or click. Vertical number will be set to some smaller number different than the one selected.

Checking down the .glabels folder in the Home directory, i can find the templates there, open them with gedit and verify that the Label info set is the one Glabels wants to set, not the one I asked the App to set.

I modify the template with Gedit to match the labels info and start again Glabels. Now the App sees the right Label info and positions labels as they should be.

Best regards, and thanks.

Added info:

Even modifying the template with Gedit does not allow to print on certain Labels. I just try to print on labels in the center of the page and just allows to print on the first four:

Template is like this:

 __________ __________
| 1 | 2 |
|__________|__________|
| 3 | 4 |
|__________|__________|
| 5 | 6 |
|__________|__________|
| 7 | 8 |
|__________|__________|
| 9 | 10 |
|__________|__________|
| 11 | 12 |
|__________|__________|
| 13 | 14 |
|__________|__________|

Template designer just creates a template with labels 1,3,5,7. Modifying the template with Gedit i can see the right distribution within the App. But when trying to print, just allows to select labels 1,2,3,4.

Very awkward.

Best regards, and thanks.

Added Fix:

I checked Glabels Website. Version 2.2.5 is available and fixes all issues stated above. It is not available through Synaptic, but can be installed through GetDeb.

Before installing, be sure to remove old Glabels and old Glabels Data. So there will be no issues with dependencies.

Best regards, and thanks.
