More info: when I launch an application with gksu/gksudo from the terminal, I get:
$ gksudo disks-admin
(disks-admin:298���xW��947): GnomeUI-WARNING **: While connecting to session manager:
Authentication Rejected, reason : None of the authentication protocols specified are supported and host-based authentication failed.
If I launch the app without the gksudo, I don't get the error message.
