Yes this should be possible. E.g. Add as Interfaces line instead of
only "www.getmyip.org" the following
 "www.getmyip.org www.whatismyip.org"

If now www.getmyip.org is down, it will probe for www.whatismyip.org,
since giplet can retrive the information also from this second site,
it should display the external ip.
