Bug Description

Binary package hint: libginac1.3c2

I tried to install ginac-tools and libginac-dev using synaptic.
The installation finished succesfully. When I try to run the ginsh tool, I get:

ginsh: error while loading shared libraries: libginac-1.3.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

I was not able to find the library anywhere on my file system.
I expected, it should come packed in the
/var/cache/apt/archives/libginac1.3c2_1.3.0-2ubuntu4_i386.deb

But it was not there. The file only contained /usr/share/doc/libginac1.3c2/* files.

I am unable to repeat this on an updated Dapper with libginac1.3c2a. Can you please confirm this?

Changed in ginac:
status: Unconfirmed → Needs Info

Oh, I see, there is another bug on the same issue:
#3360.
Can I simply use the latest Dapper deb on my breezy system?
