Bug Description

Lubuntu 20.10 QA-test

On booting I see a nice Lubuntu logo on top half of screen, below in bottom left corner is the language select, none of which are readable. As I use english I need only wait or press enter, but I'd be lost if I needed another language

This bug affects me too, and I want Swedish, which is not easy unless a remember from previous versions 'where it is located genometrically'. For some reason the language selection screen of syslinux boot is rendered differently compared to what has been working for decades.

This is also seen on Kubuntu and Xubuntu Groovy daily ISOs pressing any key on boot to enter the syslinux menu. On those ISO language selection box has to be invoked with F2, but the messed up screen still happens, so seems a more general syslinux menu issue.

I can confirm the original report - the original screen after boot was messed up - waited, pressed enter and the live session loaded.

Ran test today 27.05.20 - with the iso :
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/lubuntu/daily-live/20200527/groovy-desktop-amd64.iso

Dell [Optiplex] 7010 ( i5-3470 , 16 GB, Intel Graphics 2500, Intel 82579LM GB Ethernet ,1TB hd)
Testcase:BIOS,no encryption, full disk, internet - run in VirtualBox - Testing for bug 1880394 (iso syslinux menu screen unreadable)

Booted install media and the syslinux menu screen was unreadable - hit the enter key and the disk check and system started normally and installed Groovy Lubuntu 20.10

Reboot:login,full disk utilized,ran Firefox - all good.
