[1:1.2-3 on Xubuntu 15.04] Doesn't allow other windows to be raised when fullscreen

I'm running version 1:1.2-3 on Xubuntu 15.04 with xfwm4 4.12.1-1ubuntu1.

When an image is being shown on fullscreen, geeqie prevents other windows to be raised and shown. After I try to switch to another window, geeqie then gets stuck: doesn't leave fullscreen and doesn't allow any other window to receive focus; when it gets into this state, I have to switch to a console session and kill the geeqie process.

On Xubuntu 14.10, xfwm4 had a bug (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xfwm4/+bug/1394439) that prevented other windows to be raised, but it has been fixed because if I go fullscreen with, let's say, smplayer, I'm able to switch to other windows. So now it seems to be a specific problem with geeqie.

Steps to reproduce this:

1. Open, let's say, an editor such as gvim
2. Open geeqie
3. Show an image
4. Switch to fullscreen by clicking 'f'
5. Try to switch to gvim by clicking on Ctrl-TAB

Results:

gvim is not shown, and thereafter geeqie doesn't leave fullscreen anymore, and no other window can be shown.
Let me know how I can help debug this.

Workaround:

Downgrade geeqie to 1:1.1-8build1 from Utopic.

geeqie in xenial is v1.2.2 has the known windows bug in which all pop up dialog windows do not display when in fullscreen mode. The bug fix is upstream in v1.3.1 which is already packaged with yakkety.

We need the upstream fix released for 16.04 and 15.xx
