When I run
$ /usr/bin/gedit --geometry=600x800
(with no previous instance of Gedit running) the size of the Gedit window is not 600x800 but instead the last size of the window is retained.
Expected behaviour:
The size of the window should be 600x800.
System information:
$ lsb_release -rd
Description: Ubuntu 13.10

$ apt-cache policy gedit
gedit:
