I confirm this bug in 8.04 Beta on an Dell XPS M1710 with a NVidia video card.
Steps to reproduce:
1.) Install ubuntu (fonts look good) 2.) Install nvidia driver (nvidia-glx) 3.) restart X 4.) username / password fonts are too large
Steps to fix:
1. edit /usr/share/gdm/themes/Human/Human.xml 2. change /usr/share/gdm/themes/Human/Human.xml
