I have updated to Ubuntu 8.04 in the hope, that this problem is fixed in the new release, but the problem still exists: I cannot connect to another machine in my local LAN, both now running ubuntu 8.04. I will get only a black screen and it doesn't work. The discussions about the bug are a little bit confusing. Has the reason for the bug been found? Changing the session manager to KDM is not really helpful, because some essential functions of the ubuntu gnome desktop doesn't work with kdm (e.g. switching the user).
When will the bug be fixed? Thanks a lot.
