For me this is not a whishlist but a BUG. GDM 2.20 is out and nothing happened upstream.

Please add an entry to GDM script that kills user processes. It's very annoying to have many resistant processes running around after logging out or killing X server. I'm not sure but they maybe interfere with each other, if same user logs in again!?

I think Gnome session manager for example can collide if there is already a running Gnome session manager. In my point of view this session manager is not very reliable and if there is another one still running there might be problems. Here sometimes session manager even does not start correctly after a FRESH system startup.

What about computers where lots of people logout and login again many times a day?

There you have lots of resistant processes staying in memory which is not a good thing in my point of view. They are also using memory and in case of Tracker staying in memory, it maybe even still use CPU.
