gconf-editor hangs (double free) when toggling boolean value

Bug Description
I used gconf-editor to toggle power-manager's can_suspend value (because there's no other way to toggle it...) and it (gconf-editor) hung when I tried to toggle the value. This happens every time. I'm using Dapper. I get the following output on the console:
*** glibc detected *** double free or corruption (out): 0x082b6330 ***
