When you reassign, merge, change severity of bug reports, please send an
explanatory message. In most cases, this means CC'ing your message to
the bug.
From the BTS, I managed to find your original message which made the
changes. This had the comment:

Could you please explain that further.
The package changed from having libdir='/usr/lib' to having libdir='/usr/lib/.'
Why?
This change has clearly broken other packages, so please consider that
your package may be in error rather than the other packages.
I am no expert in these matters, but libdir='/usr/lib/' seems to make
more sense.
