Can you run manually the following commands:

[ -d "/etc/fusioninventory" ] || mkdir "/etc/fusioninventory"
ucf /usr/share/fusioninventory/etc/agent.cfg /etc/fusioninventory/agent.cfg
ucfr fusioninventory-agent /etc/fusioninventory/agent.cfg
