Namely, when auditd has any rules configured, I can't mount any fuse file-systems. Comment 61 seems to have a pretty solid description of what's happening underneath and the solution appears to be upgrading to a libfuse > 2.8.3. Only 2.8.1 (http://packages.ubuntu.com/lucid/libfuse2) appears to be available currently for lucid.
