Bug Description

Binary package hint: fslint

fslint 2.40 package from Ubuntu Lucid/Karmic introduced several regressions:

* FSlint GUI doesn't start if the user's locale is not supported by the system.
* Warning about missing paths appers when adding wildcard paths to the exclude list.
* finded produces incorrect results when passed parameters with a trailing /.
* finded produces incorrect results when passed empty branches as parameters.

Look at official changelog - http://fslint.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/doc/NEWS for detailed list of available regressions in fslint 2.40

Please include fixes for these regressions from fslint svn or update fslint package to 2.41 version.

you're best bet is to get Padraig who is both upstream author and Debian Maintainer to release 2.42 to Debian.

seeing that Padraig has still not released either 2.41 nor 2.42 to Debian I'm not sure it's such a terribly important regression. Especially given that both Ubuntu and Debian are gearing up for another stable release (which I'm sure Padraig is aware of).

We're working on getting another release into Debian and then into precise. That's tracked in bug 739109
