This method worked perfectly for me. (F14-x86_64 - Intel MacBook)
For other users like myself unfamiliar with rpmbuild (I had to do some googling to figure this part out) install rpmdevtools (inc deps) and chrpath (I could only find 0.13.6.fc12-x86_64, but it worked).
Thank You to all involved with figuring this one out, and an aside I didn't have to implement Linus' (et.al) patch, although Thank You to all of you as well, that was next...
