You did not understand. What should be patched is the flash-plugin (libflashplayer.so), and not firefox.

I changed my .src.rpm to patch even the 32 bit version:

rpmbuild --rebuild flash-plugin-10.3-1.fc14.src.rpm

You should see it downloading the source from adobe and patching it.
After doing that, install the created rpm and restart firefox.

You should check using "about:plugins" in firefox address bar, whether it is really using the new version.
