You can't patch /usr/bin/firefox because (under Fedora, at least) it is
a bash script that in turn runs the firefox binary, which currently (Fedora 13)
is /usr/lib/firefox-3.6/firefox . If you wish, try patching that:

./fix-flash.sh /usr/lib/firefox-3.6/firefox
