I could be wrong, but I think the main point of hiring coders or having donations for a project is mainly to keep up visibility on this issue. It's gone un-fixed for like 9 years, which is all keeping quiet has so far accomplished. This particular thread though, is not the appropriate place for this discussion, hence the external project. There's a comment thread on the fossfactory project where this discussion should take place.
