A workaround for the time being could be to make the plugin lose focus when the browser loses focus.

Example:
I'm stuck in a Youtube video
I press the Windows Key
When focus returns to the browser, I can once again tab around.

I'm not sure if this is even possible but I thought I would throw that out there.
