That's my point!
It's extremely usefull for fast navigation, at least for me or my colls at work.
Of course you can type in .net or .org, use favorites, or something else.
But I don't the point in linking opening URLs in a new window with that - even if its old - feature.
It might be a relic and not know to many users, but I would like at least have the chance to decide if I want the new or the old feature.
Now I'm pretty upset about the latest Firefox, there were already a lot things I missed during the latest versions, but that one is a real issue.
