So why do people want Find Toolbar appearance for FAYT? There are four functional differences from the point of view of keyboard users:
1. Auto-dismissal
2. Behavior of Enter
3. No way to highlight all from QuickFind (this actually bothers me as a QuickFind user)
4. No way to match case from QuickFind
(Search forward/backward is F3/Shift+F3).
Why can't we disable auto-dismiss (after fixing the problem described in my previous comment), enable CTRL+Enter to highlight all occurrences and leave the current minimal UI? There would be two differences left:
* Enter behavior (I don't suppose this is a deal-breaker)
* Lack of Case sensitive search functionality (almost nobody uses that on a regular basis)
