I agree. I think this is important, not just for Firefox users, but for the web in general. Indeed an extension is not sufficient, otherwise many users won't be able to see text/* files by default, meaning that web authors will give an incorrect media type to source files, just to be compatible with Firefox.

Could this block the next Firefox version?
