j127: if you're using the firefox-next PPA, you're doing this at your own risk, without any guarantees from ubuntu developers that this won't break. The PPA is meant for testing beta builds, not for end users.

If you want a stable version of firefox, you shouldn't be using that PPA. Packages in the Ubuntu archive are supported.
