Bug Description

I have turned the "Warn me when web sites try to redirect or reload the page" option in Firefox on for security reasons, however I have found in some cases that it is rather annoying because for instance there is a page which I fully trust and want to allow to redirect or reload the page whenever it wishes to, or at least in the current session, but that page (for instance when I am uploading certain data to a LaunchPad bug report) constantly reloads or redirects so I have to constantly press the "Allow" button. Eventually I find that I just have to turn the option off temporarily as there is nothing else I can do.

So what I think would be very useful is for that option to have further configuration allowing you to whitelist certain domains or pages. It should also have more buttons than "Allow" in the bar that comes up asking you if you would like to allow the website to reload or redirect the page automatically, buttons such as "Always allow" and "Allow for this session".

These are just some ideas, but something definitely needs to be implemented to make this feature more flexible and less rigid. Because currently one can either have the feature on everywhere, or off everywhere, but many users will want it to be on in some places, and off in others like in my case. So there definitely needs to be some more flexibility in this feature so that I'm not just forced to turn it off entirely when a page I trust needs to do a lot of reloading.

In Firefox 3 You can block automatically redirecting one page to other. It very useful, but should have more options. For now we have something like that:

What I would like to be is that:
http://i26.tinypic.com/28arfhv.jpg

If it's matter there is extension for Firefox 2 which has such options
RefreshBlocker - https://addons.mozilla.org/pl/firefox/addon/992

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.
2.
3.

ok since you want to attach it here, include my data here, there should be an option to allow a certain page to reload (or redirect I guess though I could care less bout redirecting since its not somethin many legit sites do) unlimited times without constantly confirming it like allow indefinitely. And it is especially annoying on sites like netflix when they go down for maintenance, I see no similarities in my bug and this one, but at least include my data if you are going to combined them to one, I am making a suggestion for this option for a more widely used website that does not function correctly when in firefox web browser and I would classify it as a major bug, but whatever guys.

Since neither the title nor the other comments describe this bug the way that I wanted to search for it:

reload (or refresh) should be another option in the permissions.sqlite database, and its warning bar should function similarly to the popup blocker information bar, allowing you to store your preferences on the fly.

The permission values:
1 = always allow reloads from this domain
2 = always deny (should a warning be displayed in this case?)
3 = (what is the definition of a 3rd party reload?)

It should also allow you to only allow redirects/reloads on the domain in the current session. As well as allowing that particular page rather than the entire domain. So perhaps there should be more options in the bar the comes up, and a whitelist of some sort in the preferences. This is better described in the bug I filed which has just been marked as a duplicate of this bug.

I also filed a report downstream on this issue: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/firefox/+bug/1555239
