Firefox is not a Qt/KDE application but rather a GTK+ one. Some packager thinks that if you use Firefox you obviously are willing not only to install the full GNOME bag of stuff, but also ditching KDE in favor of it.
When I install Firefox, I am not asking for anything but Firefox. If I have program X to browse directories, I wish I keep it as it is.
