I did some research, and Ruby is a part of XHTML 1.1 (and thus subsequent versions, XHTML 2.0, and XHTML 5, which is the same as HTML5, as far as i understand)

Since is it now part of the newest W3C recommendations, I would suggest that there should be a higher priority of implementing this in the mainline.
