The current behavior is really annoying, and there is no pref to stop the annoyance.

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.3) Gecko/20041008
Firefox/0.10

I prefer to go through my email messages, clicking on the various links, then
read the links at my leisure. With builds up through a few months ago, I could
do this. I could do this even more recently by opening a non-registered (second)
installation of Firefox by hand. Messages would then open from Outlook in
background without Firefox disturbing my reading.

Now, from Ben's comment 41, I take it that my preferred method is not preferred.
I can accept the current method as a default, but I would like a settable pref
so that I don't have to keep clicking back from Firefox intruding on my reading.
I'd even accept a pref I can put in user.js. But the current method is quite rude.
