I personally disagree there. Having ajax do things in your back is not really nice. If JS is waiting on data loading I'd like to be aware of it rather than get impatient and redo an action that's just being done.
If anything if creators do not want any activity to be displayed they should enforce a non-loading cursor during loads, not the opposite.
