I should have added that being visually disabled, when you use the mouse wheel to increase the size of the text on a page being viewed, the tab list is NOT similarly increased. But one does NOT generally want all the "background"default text size increased anyway because it then takes up too much room on the screen leaving virtually no room for the actual page content.

The presence of the single larger, static location webpage loading activity icon was thus much more helpful to the visually impaired.
