I was always annoyed by the fact that a dialog popped up by one tab prevented me to access the other tabs. Example:
You read instructions on one tab :
- tab1: "visit this URL"
- you open that URL in new tab
- tab1: "click this link"
- you click the link on tab 2
- an authentication dialog appears
- tab1 say : "enter x and y as name and password", but YOU CANT read this, since the dialog blocks you from switching to tab1
