Just curious: What's the difference w.r.t. this bug? When the password prompt appears it blocks all windows anyway (sometimes with the frustrating effect that you can't even see the prompt but it blocks even the maximize/minimize buttons of all other windows), and it frequently appears on the wrong monitor (in a dual-monitor setup).

IMHO if this were app-modal it would be at least less confusing.
