I repeated the test on an older system (celeron) with a fresh install of fedora9 i686. Again I patched the source tarball and made a new rpm, installed it (with a forced install btw so I know it's the new version). Then I ran the new copy, setup session restore and a master password and created a couple tabs all pointing to the same https server that requires a single http authentication after which I can get to any part of the web server. I exited and restarted firefox and while the behaviour is MUCH better, I still got two master password dialogs (one for each tab) and the same http authentication dialog for each tab.
