A. Craig West's logic is spot-on. Whether or not the browser-side user approves of case-sensitive usernames, that user doesn't control whether *the site they're visiting* deals in case-sensitive usernames. The browser needs to be able to handle those sites too. Otherwise it's like saying because we're philosophically opposed to spammy pop-up windows, therefore we won't have features to deal with sites that launch them.
