Firefox doesn't work correctly

firefox-3.0 (Ubuntu)

Bug Description

Binary package hint: firefox-3.0

I am new with the Ubuntu system therefore I can't give you a deeper description of this bug but I am used to firefox.

Opening Firefox the head line is not coloured but keeps grey as if this would be an inactive window.

Firefox itself works properly.

The bottom lines of Ubuntu are not to be seen.

If I want to close firefox I have to look at the about window or other functions, then I can see the bottom line and can close Firefox.

What can I do ?

ProblemType: Bug
Architecture: i386
DistroRelease: Ubuntu 8.10
Package: firefox-3.0 3.0.7+nobinonly-0ubuntu0.8.10.1
ProcEnviron:
 PATH=/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/sbin:/bin:/usr/games
 LANG=de_DE.UTF-8
 SHELL=/bin/bash
SourcePackage: firefox-3.0
Uname: Linux 2.6.24-22-generic i686

pressing F11 makes the hidden bars reappear. It may be a bit of a
nuisance that you need to do this from time to time, but it works.

Alex

Since the cause of the problem isn't clear and was fixed without providing any patch or such, this bug will be marked as invalid, if such a problem would arise again, please change the status to new or open a new bug report. Thanks.

Vikram Dhillon: this is a duplicate of a valid bug which is "Fix Released". It seems rather pointless and misleading to change the status to Invalid at this point.
