Bug Description

Binary package hint: firefox-3.0

When starting Firefox in Ubuntu [Linux] I receive the following message:

error installing toolbar:[Exception... "Node was not found" code: "8" nsresult: "0x80530008 (NS_ERROR_DOM_NOT_FOUND_ERR)" location: "chrome://global/content/bindings/toolbar.xml Line: 259"]

The browser works fine, I just want to get rid of the message when clicking on the browser.

Thanks

Scott D

I've got the same problem. It goes away when I disable the webfav module, so it's probably a bug in that package.

I did a fresh install of 9.04. After downloading and using the newest firefox beta this happened once again. Removing the webfav package fixed it again.

This is not a firefox bug but a webfav bug. This is due to the fact that webfav is a firefox extension so it is automaticlly assumed for firefox

assigning to stevenk who seemed to have driven the webfav extension at some point.

One thing you could check is whether the webfav extensions has bad side effects from other extensions. Could you check if it goes away if you only have webfav enabled in tools addons? if so, finding the extension that interferes would be helpful i guess.

This continues to be a problem in Karmic Netbook Remix, however, this only reproduces upon Firefox startup when I've hidden Firefox's "Navigation Toolbar" and "Bookmarks Toolbar."

This has already been established as a webfav issue, therefore I am setting the Firefox 3.5 task to Invalid.

I disagree! This is not invalid. I have just upgraded to UNR 9.10 and this problem re-occurred. I had to manually remove webfav from my machine after the 9.04 UNR upgrade when this first occurred and had to do it again now. I know what I am doing and it took a while to figure this out. What about the poor luvs that don't have brains the size of planets?

Someone responsible for UNR needs to sort this issue out. If webfav is a requirement of UNR then it must work.

Riban, nobody is saying it is invalid, just that the task for firefox-3.5 was invalid. It is still very much alive as a bug against webfav.

I'm getting this error in Lucid. I was wondering if it might be to do with having no bookmark toolbar for webfav to install itself on to.
